The Haría City Council presents the fifth edition of the Librarte Festival with the aim of continuing to promote the habit of reading. From March 31 to April 4, workshops, recitals and different activities will be held to fulfill this purpose and energize the cultural spaces of the municipality.

The mayor of Haría, Alfredo Villalba, explained that "the El Aljibe hall in Haría, the Municipal Library and the La Tegala theater hall will be some of the venues where culture and passion for reading will permeate the entire atmosphere for four days."

For her part, the Councilor for Culture, Evelia García, pointed out that "the program starts next Monday with the School Theater Festival, a cultural, artistic, educational and social project that was born in 2018 with the intention of bringing the performing arts closer to the educational centers of Lanzarote." "On this occasion, the meeting will take place on Monday, March 31, at the CEIP Las Mercedes, and on Tuesday, April 1, at the IES Haría, with the aim of offering the public the opportunity to learn firsthand about the creative work of the students," added the councilor.

In parallel, on Tuesday, April 1, at 7:00 p.m., the Tomás Armas poetry club will offer a musicalized reading in the La Tegala theater hall, with the collaboration of Pepe Betancor, author of the book 'El año de las cucas volonas', and Luis Fajardo, who will set some of the texts chosen for this recital to music. Admission will be free until full capacity is reached.

On Wednesday, April 2, the program continues at 09:00 a.m. in the Municipal Library with the project Haría once..., a pedagogical storytelling proposal to which a workshop will be added by the author of the book La ciudad Pecosol, Paco Campos Lozano. On this occasion, this event, framed in the International Children's Book Day, will be aimed at the students of the CEIP San Juan de Haría.

Also on Wednesday, at 7:00 p.m., the El Aljibe Hall hosts the concert Sounds of the Soul, with performances by Adrián Niz, Pedro Manuel, José Vicente Pérez and the voice of Almudena Hernández. At the end, the exhibition installation Visual Poems by the artist Dora Cantero entitled What I didn't know I knew will be inaugurated.

On Thursday, April 3, the El Aljibe Hall and the Municipal Library, at 6:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m., respectively, will host a talk by the Haría Reading Club, where attendees will analyze some of the latest works they have read.

Afterwards, they will enjoy the show My library at night, where theater and literature merge to give life to the Haría Municipal Library. As a final touch to the Librarte Festival, on Thursday, April 4, at 5:00 p.m., children will be able to discover the world of reading thanks to the meeting organized by the Haría Children's Reading Club in the Municipal Library.

In addition, at 8:00 p.m., in the C.S.C. La Tegala, the Swiss company Frau Trapp will close this edition of the Librarte Festival with the show Five Lines, a hybrid creation that combines the language of theater, audiovisual art and live music in a new performative form. Tickets are now available through the web.
