'Notes of Woman', a gala to celebrate the strength and the female voice in San Bartolomé

Eight soloists and the Municipal Choir star at the Municipal Theater in an evening full of music and vindication, in a tribute to the strength, the struggle, and the equality of women.

On the occasion of International Women's Day, the San Bartolomé City Council celebrated on the night of last Saturday, at the San Bartolomé Municipal Theater, an emotional gala titled "Notes of a Woman", n musical show created especially to commemorate 'March 8'.

The event began at 8:00 PM with the welcoming words of the mayor of the municipality, Isidro Pérez Martín, who made an extensive reflection on the meaning of this commemoration in the full 21st century. During his speech, the mayor highlighted that there is still a long way to go to achieve real equality between men and women, underscoring the commitment of the municipal corporation he presides over to continue working to achieve full equality of rights, the active participation of women in society, and their integral development as individuals. Likewise, he emphasized the need to make women's achievements visible and continue demanding the elimination of all forms of discrimination, especially in the labor and wage spheres, as well as in the fight against gender violence. His words were received with warm applause from the attending public.

After the institutional intervention, the gala began, a production by Manuel Mauri Nieves, director and music teacher, who also accompanied on the piano the protagonists of the evening "8 Solo Women and the Municipal Choir of San Bartolomé". The staging, cared for down to the last detail, offered a musical show prepared exclusively for this commemoration.

From the first moment, the audience enjoyed a high-level artistic proposal with the performances of; Iballa, Janet, Fabiola, Araceli, Desy, Alexia, Nieves and Iraides, accompanied in some of the interpretations by the voices of the choristers of the Municipal Choir directed by professor Mariola Ferrer. Each of the performers gave their best on stage, receiving as a reward the constant recognition of the audience, who throughout the gala embraced them with an affectionate and prolonged applause.

The repertoire included well-known songs such as "Thanks to Life", "I Will Survive", "I Am Not Her", "I Believe in Myself", or "That Life", themes popularized on different stages by national and international artists and which, on this occasion, served as a tribute to the strength, struggle, and sensitivity of women.

The gala 'Notes of Woman', conceived as a song to female strength and struggle, reached its emotional end with the performance of the song "I Only Ask God", composed by the Argentine León Gieco in 1978. It is about na authentic musical prayer against indifference to dlor, injustice, deceit and war, a call to conscience and empathy not to remain insensitive to the suffering of others.

The song that put the golden clasp on the night, was performed by the eight singers accompanied by the voices of the choir. Upon concluding the performance, the audience standing up, dedicated a long ovation to the artists, asking them to continue. Given the insistence and enthusiasm of the attendees, the performers offered an encore with the same song, thus closing an evening loaded with emotion and meaning that will remain in the memory of all present.
