The Arrecife City Council has promoted several initiatives that allow residents to learn about the history and environmental values of the Arrecife marina, a city that was born as a port and city next to the Charco de San Ginés.
With the arrival of August, and as a prelude to the Sangineles, the Department of Beaches and Environment, led by Councilor Davinia Déniz, has scheduled two new outings to explore the capital's coastline through canoe trips.
Activity details
Given the great success achieved in previous editions, Davinia Déniz has scheduled two special outings for Friday, August 8, in the afternoon, for people over 12 years of age, in groups of 20 people.
The Department of Environment of the Arrecife City Council, in collaboration with the Los Marlines Canoeing Club and the technical assistance of MJC Ambiental, will offer this free activity between 5:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m., the first shift, and the second, between 6:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m., so that attendees can take a walk along the coast of the capital of Lanzarote, within the project Arrecife Marina, a value to discover.
The activity, designed to highlight the importance of the Arrecife marina as a unique natural and ecological space, will allow 40 people to enjoy kayak routes and environmental awareness sessions in these two outings.
During the tours, attendees can explore the marine biodiversity and learn more about the history and ecological richness of this emblematic environment of the capital of Lanzarote.
The Councilor for the Environment, Davinia Déniz, positively values the development of the day: "This activity is an opportunity for citizens to connect with their environment in a sustainable way and discover the treasure that our marina represents. The excellent reception of the different previous outings that we have offered encourages us to schedule it in this month of August, where the city will experience the celebration of the Sangineles, strengthening awareness and knowledge about our history," she said.
Free registration
The activity is open free of charge, promoting participation and knowledge of the history of Arrecife, and its rich and varied marine flora and fauna, and environmental awareness.
