The Security and Emergency Consortium of Lanzarote reminds the citizens of both islands of the basic security measures that must be followed on the night of this Monday, with the celebration of the bonfires of San Juan.
“We are aware that it is one of the most anticipated nights of the year, but we must respect the security measures so that we can enjoy a magical and uneventful evening,” said the president of the Consortium, Francisco J. Aparicio.
In this sense, the Security and Emergency Consortium of Lanzarote urges the residents of Lanzarote and La Graciosa to choose a safe place; avoid the proximity of the bonfire to vehicles and power lines; stay six meters away from the fire; clean the area to prevent its spread; avoid using light materials that may come off; watch the fire; make sure the fire is completely extinguished before finishing; collect the waste and make sure the place is clean.
“These measures are as simple as they are necessary to guarantee a safe evening, and that in this way we can all enjoy one of our most anticipated traditions of the year,” added Aparicio.
Likewise, citizens are reminded that in the event of any anomalous or emergency situation, they should contact 112, and from there the necessary personnel will be coordinated.
