The iconic art center of Lanzarote, El Almacén, premiered three captivating exhibition projects that already adorn its walls. Among them, "A Countdown" by Víctor G. Moreno, "Metamorphosis of Coordinates" by Bárbara Müller and the intriguing collective installation "Resonances of the Other Self" stand out. These artistic expressions, varied in their nature, will be available to visit until January 13.

The Minister of Culture, Jesús Machín Tavío, extended a warm invitation to the resident and visiting population of the island "to immerse themselves in this unique artistic spectacle, a reflection of the creative wealth that our island harbors." "It is an opportunity to connect with artistic expression in its maximum expression and experience the beauty that our minds and hearts can create," he concluded.

Access to the exhibitions is free and free. The doors of the art center are open from Monday to Friday, from 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. In addition, on Saturdays you can access the exhibition from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

A countdown

The artist Víctor G. Moreno, with the curatorship of Rafael Arocha, proposes an exhibition project in which he shows a world dominated by the whirlwind of haste or the anxiety of meeting deadlines and schedules. In an allegorical way, he seeks to explore and investigate, through different plastic and visual resources, the possible relationships or communicating vessels existing in the processes of artistic creation when these are crossed by internal “countdowns” that seem to lead us to an end in which everything will finally blow up.

This project has its roots in research around countercultural movements, but above all in the aesthetic and visual imagery of films such as 'Blow up' (1966) or 'Zabriskie Point' (1970) by filmmaker Michelangelo Antonioni, as a disturbing counterpoint to the beauty of destruction.

Metamorphosis of coordinates

This artistic installation, configured as a poetic system of geographic coordinates, is based on the vital experience in three points crossed by the imaginary lines that run from East to West and from North to South. Between the degrees of latitude and longitude are three defining territories in the life of the artist and architect Bárbara Müller: Barcelona, Lanzarote and Patagonia. They speak of a metamorphosis written and drawn on the coordinates of the territory through which the voice and gaze of the artist pass, now converted into our voices and gazes.

Resonances of the other self

The scenic production workshop 'Resonances of the other self', taught by Marta Neme and Emma López Leyton (Prototekne), has allowed that, through a selection of six participants and artists, they not only delve into the knowledge and experimentation of the different languages of the so-called 'Art of Action', but also create an 'object-art' analogously (that is, a mannequin on a human scale), investigating the family past of each member as a concept.

Now each of these 'object-art' is exhibited, which are associated with a process of personal creation around the construction of a role and a story, after being integrated into a piece of performative theater.
