The José Ramírez Cerdá Park has been the stage chosen for the presentation of the Arrecife Christmas program 2024-2025. A program coordinated by the Department of Festivities of the capital City Council, whose details have been explained this Monday by its head, the Deputy Mayor, Echedey Eugenio, in a press conference in which the Mayor of the city, Yonathan de León, was also present.
The first mayor remarked that this year of commemoration “there are many new features and all families can enjoy the events, both in the neighborhoods and throughout the entire seafront.”
Yonathan de León expressed his congratulations to all the Areas that contribute to this Christmas program, "the most dynamic of all those organized by the City Council", according to the council.
For the mayor, this planning seeks, together with the joy and fun of all families, to generate synergies in the commercial, hotel and leisure sectors of Arrecife. “The entire promenade has activities and dynamization, and it will be a magnet so that not only families residing in Arrecife, but many from other municipalities of Lanzarote, come to the city, becoming locomotives for the local economy,” he pointed out.
De León, pointed out that together with these activities that are inaugurated this Monday, having La Recova and the church square as a gastronomic attraction, the Sand Nativity Scene on El Reducto beach and the second edition of the Navilan Ciudad de Arrecife Christmas Fair will be added.
In his speech, Echedey Eugenio also thanked the involvement of the different municipal areas (Culture, Education, Sports, Youth, Seniors, Citizen Participation, Commerce, Tourism, Social Welfare and Beaches), which have contributed activities and resources to enrich the Christmas offer, and especially highlighted the work of the team of the Festivities Area, highlighting that the joint effort has made it possible to offer a varied and quality program.
“This joint work reflects our commitment to offering a Christmas that reaches everyone and revitalizes our city”, said the mayor, highlighting that, like last year, it is a living program.
Eugenio stressed that a program has been designed for all audiences and with the aim of giving life to the city at this special time of year, creating an inclusive, festive and magical atmosphere for residents and visitors. “We want every corner of Arrecife to vibrate with the joy of Christmas, from the neighborhoods to the heart of the city,” he said.
Among the key spaces of this program is La Recova Municipal, which will become a nerve center with musical, gastronomic and cultural activities.
The events will start this afternoon with the inauguration at 7:00 p.m. of the traditional Nativity Scene and, for the first time in Arrecife, Santa Claus' House. The opening of doors of both spaces, located in the José Ramírez Cerdá Park, thus marks the official start of the Christmas celebrations.
The program, which will take place from December 9 to January 6, includes children's workshops, concerts, family shows, Christmas markets and performances in various emblematic locations in the city, such as Plaza de Las Palmas, Parque Islas Canarias or the Civic Center.
The complete program, which includes traditional events such as the Three Kings Parade, or the San Silvestre, as well as creative workshops and activities for young and old, is available for consultation on the Arrecife City Council website www.arrecife.es.
“From classical music concerts in Plaza de Las Palmas to rhythmic gymnastics exhibitions in the neighborhoods, this Christmas is committed to diversity and participation,” said Eugenio.
