The Art, Culture and Tourism Centers have organized Intra-Tam, a "transformative" experience in different landscapes, paths and corners of Lanzarote. The initiative, within the program of the Performing Arts Festival, has guided the participants through "self-discovery" through dance and "environmental exploration", according to the Centers in a statement.

Under the direction of choreographer and cultural agitator Carmelo Fernández, twelve artistic recreators immersed themselves in emblematic authorized locations of the island such as Jameos del Agua, the trails of La Geria, the coast of Famara or the Cueva de los Verdes to "reconnect with the environment through dance."

Fernández oriented the experience both in open and closed spaces, offering participants "a unique experience of connection with nature and movement." In addition, he stressed the importance of leaving the academic environment, highlighting "the vital connection between movement and natural space" in an experience that has represented "an invaluable opportunity to immerse yourself in the essence of the island."

Voices and experiences from the landscape

Intra-tam, an extension of the TAM workshops (acronym for "tirarse al monte" - throwing yourself into the mountain), has left a remarkable mark on those who experienced it firsthand. Beyond focusing solely on movement, Fernández emphasized "how it promoted a deep connection with nature and the vitality of the participants."

In addition, he reflected on how nature can be a source of inspiration and a space for creation for various artistic disciplines, highlighting the importance of this trend throughout the history of art.

Ana describes how the workshop has allowed her to feel like an integral part of the landscape, as if her body and the environment were intertwined in an eternal dance. "It's as if the island itself is whispering its deepest secrets to us," she shares.

Paula reflects on the wise guidance of Carmelo Fernández. "He has led us through labyrinths of lava and cliffs of dreams, revealing to us the hidden beauty in every corner of this wild land."

Naira found an oasis of inspiration in this workshop. "Each movement, each breath, is a work of art in itself. The workshop has awakened in me a creative flame that burns with the intensity of the volcanoes of Lanzarote."

Manolo has come across a renewal of his bond with the land in the workshop. "This workshop has taken us to corners that we would never have imagined exploring, connecting us in a unique way with the very essence of this island," he revealed with gratitude.

Intra-tam stood as a beacon, guiding its participants on a journey of self-discovery and connection with the world around them. In each gesture, in each look, the mark of an artistic experience that transcends time and space remains engraved.
