Last Thursday night, the Arrecife Civic Center became the perfect stage to host the presentation of Cruce de Caminos, a musical project driven by the Department of Culture of the Arrecife City Council, under the direction of its head, Abigail González.

The show brought together on stage the timple players Benito Cabrera and José Vicente Pérez, accompanied by their inseparable guitarists Tomás Fariñas and Adrián Niz, four musicians with solid careers who decided to meet in the same space to share, intertwine, and celebrate their work before the Lanzarote audience.

Three prominent voices from the island joined this instrumental proposal; Almudena Hernández, Israel López, and the young Gabriela Rodríguez. The complicity between musicians and soloists was evident from the first notes, winning over an audience that did not skimp on applause after each performance

The concert was further enriched by the experience and profound musical knowledge of Cabrera and Pérez, who offered brief introductions to each piece, providing context and cultural content that rounded off the evening. The repertoire journeyed through compositions such as Oye Mar, Mazurca, or Nube de Hielo, combined with traditional genres like folías, seguidillas, and polkas, along with instrumental pieces such as Canari, La Cumparsita, Can´t Help, or Angels, among others.

One of the most celebrated moments of the night occurred when the four musicians, timple players and guitarists, joined on stage to perform several pieces together, raising the energy of the show and earning enthusiastic ovations from the audience, who stood up and asked them to continue. To cap it off, the quartet, accompanied by the soloists, gifted a vibrant and popular Isa Parrandera, which delighted those present.

After the concert concluded, the Councilor for Culture, Abigail González, and the First Deputy Mayor of the Arrecife City Council, Echedey Eugenio, approached to personally congratulate the musicians and soloists for the magnificent work performed. Cruce de Caminos left the audience with the feeling of having attended an authentic and memorable musical encounter, a spectacle that did not go unnoticed and left an excellent aftertaste.
