On the occasion of the celebration of Mother's Day, this Sunday, May 3, the Culture Area of the Teguise City Council, directed by councilor Andoni Machín, organized an emotional concert in the Plaza de La Constitución, popularly known as the Plaza de Los Leones.

At 12:00 noon, 'Las canciones de mi Madre' began, a show starring the renowned Tenerife singer and folklorist José Manuel Ramos, who was accompanied by two outstanding musicians: Jeremías Martín, on accordion and keyboards, and Moisés García, on electric bass.

During the concert, José Manuel Ramos offered an intimate and personal journey through his life path, deeply marked by his childhood in the family home alongside his parents and siblings. On such a special day, the artist paid a heartfelt tribute to the figure of his mother, Olga Ramos, born into a family of musicians and singers in Punta del Hidalgo (Tenerife). From her, he inherited not only a love for the most traditional Canarian folklore, but also for those popular songs of his youth that, over time, became the soundtrack of his life.

"My Mother's Songs", was a concert in which music and memory intertwined. Between boleros, coplas, rancheras, and pieces of Canarian roots, the artist shared with the numerous audience the most intimate moments of his family life, evoking memories charged with emotion and authenticity. A repertoire that reflected the indelible mark that those songs left on his childhood, youth, and maturity.

Currently, José Manuel Ramos is considered one of the most influential singers and folklorists in the Canary Islands. Heir to an important musical legacy, he has been a soloist in emblematic groups such as Los Sabandeños and La Parranda de Cantadores. His work as a producer and disseminator has contributed to consolidating a distinguished career within the traditional and popular music of the Canary archipelago.

The concert managed to win over the audience gathered in the emblematic square located in the heart of the Historic Complex of the Noble Villa of Teguise. Beyond his musical performance, José Manuel Ramos offered an intimate and profoundly human experience, in which his personal experiences occupied a central place, always with the figure of his mother as a guide and inspiration.

An unforgettable morning in which music and emotion came together hand in hand, demonstrating not only the artistic quality of José Manuel Ramos, but also his sensitivity and closeness to the audience who gave him a standing ovation with a loud and prolonged applause.
