Once again, the 'Canto a la Navidad' opened its doors full of music, magic, and excitement for its inauguration, held last Thursday night in the social hall of the S.C.R.D. Torrelavega. The venue was at full capacity and an exquisite audience once again supported the board of directors for the effort and work they put in each year with the arrival of the Christmas holidays. At 8:30 PM, the president of the Torrelavega Society, **Toñin Ramos,** visibly moved, addressed those present to thank them for the support received during the year that is ending and to wish that 2026 arrives full of good wishes, with families achieving their goals and enjoying themselves united. After the greeting, the president, accompanied by the nativity scene artist Laly Valiente, the Minister of Education of the Cabildo de Lanzarote, Ascensión Toledo, and the councilors of the Arrecife City Council Roberto Herbón and Óscar López, proceeded to light the Nativity Scene, the Christmas Tree, and all the Christmas decorations installed in the social hallOnce again, the Nativity scene and its ornamentation surprised the large crowd, who responded to the lighting with prolonged applause. The nativity scene artist Laly Valiente, along with her team consisting of Carlos, Alfonso, and Domingo, once again stood out for her attention to detail and the incorporation of new figures, far exceeding expectations. In recognition of her work, the management of the Sociedad Torrelavega presented her with a beautiful artisanal sculpture featuring the symbol of the city of Arrecife: the Puente de las Bolas.

The second part of the 'Song to Christmas' was dedicated to music, with a magnificent concert offered by the El Pavón Popular Music Group, from the municipality of Tías, directed by Professor Mel Reyes. Its 30 members displayed a broad and varied repertoire that included traditional Canarian genres, Latin American themes, and several Christmas carols. With a 33-year trajectory, El Pavón once again demonstrated that hard work, responsibility, and respect for the audience are the key to achieving set goals.

The audience enjoyed a luxurious concert, where guitars, lutes, mandolins, timples, and percussion accompanied the powerful and in-tune voices of soloists and choirs. The prolonged applause and requests for encores culminated with one of the most popular Canary Islands songs, "Somos Costeros." This brought a fitting end to a night where the magic of Christmas once again united hearts.

The Torrelavega society will open its doors every day from Monday to Sunday, from 5:30 PM to 10 PM, so that the public can visit the Nativity Scene and take the customary photo at the photocall.
