Calle Real will once again become a living stage this Saturday afternoon where art speaks without words. The Festival del Silencio celebrates its second and final day, during which the names of the three winning artists of the I International Human Statues Competition will be revealed, included in this cultural event organized by the Department of Festivals of the Arrecife City Council, headed by Deputy Mayor Echedey Eugenio, on the occasion of the Christmas festivities.
The awards ceremony will take place this Saturday night, at 9:00 PM, on the stage of Plaza de Las Palmas, bringing the curtain down on two consecutive days in which silent art has filled the commercial heart of the capital with emotion, creativity, and wonder
The festival kicked off this Friday, December 19, and continues this Saturday, from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM, with 17 international artists set up on their stages along Calle Real, offering the public a visual and emotional experience open to all ages.
Throughout Friday, numerous residents and visitors, young and old, enthusiastically enjoyed and interacted with each of the human statues, creating a unique atmosphere in the heart of Arrecife.
Those who couldn't enjoy the festival on its first day still have time to do so, as this Saturday art will once again take over the street. Among the offerings is the participation of Dera, the Naturaleza Viva artist, who yesterday surprised the public by creating a large pictorial work on an improvised canvas instead of bringing a human statue to life. Today, however, she will be on her stage, thus completing the artistic experience of the event.
The public continues to play a fundamental role in the festival's development, as the winners are chosen by voting for your favorite statue by scanning the QR code located next to each character or by accessing www.festivaldelsilencio.es directly
The Councilor for Festivals, Echedey Eugenio, invites citizens to join this final day of the festival. "I encourage all residents to come back to Calle Real this afternoon and for those who couldn't make it yesterday, not to miss it today. It's a unique opportunity to enjoy a different kind of show, participate, interact with the artists, and vote, because the public decides the winners."
Following the success and great reception of the first day, the Festival of Silence is already emerging as one of the most unique cultural offerings of Christmas in Arrecife, betting on an art that invites us to stop, observe, and feel, transforming public space into a meeting point between culture and emotion
