The traditional Carnival infected the numerous public that concentrated throughout the route from the Pescadería dock to the Charco de San Ginés with its music, rhythm, and color.
At 11 in the morning, complying with the scheduled time, the newly released boat 'El Volador' departed from the islet of Fermina, the work of Lanzarote master Agustín Jordán, in charge of the navigation maneuver to the Pescadería dock. The president of Los Buches, Juan Antonio Machado, and an unidentified masked person traveled on the boat. 'El Volador' was received with full honors with the musical chords of the Parranda Marinera de Buches that intertwined with the applause of the numerous public concentrated in the surroundings, among whom were also the mayor of the Arrecife City Council, Yonathan de León, the Councilor for Festivities, Echedey Eugenio, and councilors from the government and opposition group, Juan Medina 'Charlot' and Manuel Rodríguez. 'The old woman of Perejil'.
Next, 'El Volador' was placed on a trailer where the corresponding sail was placed and at that moment the delegation started, touring Avenida Marítima with great animation with the marine chords of the Parranda Los Buches, infecting the public with their joy and giving the odd 'buchazo' as they passed before the watchful eyes of many tourists who stopped to shoot their mobiles, immortalizing the moment.
When the delegation arrived next to the sculpture 'La Mirada', dedicated to the universal artist César Manrique, they performed 'Habanera a César Manrique', once the habanera was finished they went to the Casa Amarilla, where Ascensión Hernández, Minister of Heritage, welcomed them, inviting them to go up to the balcony and from there a part of the institutional delegation addressed the public, encouraging them to participate in the different events scheduled until the 17th and to enjoy the hospitality of Arrecife and Lanzarote.
It was at this moment when the public present was very pleasantly surprised to discover that the masked person who came aboard 'El Volador', from the islet of Fermina to the Pescadería dock, was none other than the town crier 'Kike Pérez', there he got rid of the wig and other accessories, throwing his cap to the public and what are the coincidences of life that it fell into the hands of his father.
Los Buches continued their journey passing through the Plaza de Las Palmas, Callejón del Aguaresido, ending at the rivera of the Charco de San Ginés and next to the sculpture that the group has dedicated and next to the 'Volador', they tuned their throats interpreting one of their marine songs until reaching the vicinity of the Casa del Miedo, thus concluding a day that had never been experienced in the Arrecife carnival.
