The José Ramírez Cerdá Park in Arrecife hosts, from this Monday until the Epiphany, the Christmas Craft Market with eight stalls with local artisan products. From the Municipal Government, they wish to "favor that the artisans of the island have in these Christmas dates some points of sale of their creations", with the cession of eight stalls, where in addition to the local population, the high level of visitors that is generated with the scales of the tourist cruises is considered as potential clients.
The mayor Yonathan de León, accompanied by the deputy mayor, and councilor of Festivities, Echedey Eugenio, attended the inauguration of this market this Monday morning. At the opening, both were accompanied by the Government group. But the councilor of the Area of Tourism, Commerce and Sports, l Eli Merino, could not participate because she was ill.
The Christmas Craft Market will open every day until January 6, 2024, Epiphany. The stands will be open in the morning and afternoon. On days with scheduled cruise ship stopovers, they will open continuously.
The mayor has told the media that this initiative has "consolidated as one of the municipal proposals for Christmas in Arrecife", a few steps from the Municipal Nativity Scene, in a neuralgic area of the maritime front and a few steps from the Open Commercial Area of the city. Tonight the Nativity Scene created in sand will be inaugurated on El Reducto beach, by the initiative of the Department of Beaches and Environment, under the direction of the councilor Davinia Déniz.
The Department of Commerce and Tourism promotes with several dynamization activities the open commercial area of Arrecife, which since this Monday has in this municipal park, the oldest in Arrecife, the stands of the artisans dedicated to the sale of Christmas pieces, objects created in ceramics, leather, and sand, works of art, screen prints on fabrics with conejeros designs, fashion, and the creation of goldsmith pieces as accessories, among other references that can be purchased at this Christmas market.
The Consistory reminds that the inauguration of the Nativity Scene sculpted in sand will be tonight at 8:00 p.m. on El Reducto beach, and that the opening of the Christmas Fair next to the Charco de San Ginés is scheduled for this coming weekend.
