The Arrecife City Council has reinforced the Municipal Urban Bus Service so that citizens have more mobility facilities during this long weekend of the San Ginés festivities, where the greatest attendance is expected due to the large concerts and the night of the fireworks. In addition to increasing the hours of urban buses, the Arrecife City Council has adapted two large parking areas for vehicles that will be open 24 hours a day.
During the nights of the big concerts and fireworks, Line 3 of the Arrecife Urban Buses will operate until 1 a.m. Thus, on the nights of this Thursday, 22nd, Saturday 24th and Sunday 25th, Line 3, which connects the neighborhoods with the city center, will run until 01:00 the next day.
The Councilor for Transportation and Mobility, Mario González Altube, recalls that, as the events take place on the Arrecife waterfront, during these San Ginés festivities the bus stops are centralized in the area of the Interchange (next to El Reducto beach) and in the vicinity of the City Hall building (next to the Municipal Archive).
The stops at the Yacht Club, Gran Hotel and José Ramírez Cerdá Park and the Boca del Muelle (Puente de las Bolas) remain closed these days.
Likewise, on the past days 15 and 18, the Arrecife Urban Buses also extended their hours. The Department has planned to continue reinforcing the municipal bus service with new improvements that will be implemented in autumn, with the new acquisitions of large buses.
More free parking areas
Similarly, the city of Arrecife will offer two large vehicle parking areas. In a planned manner, as the area of the attractions is focused next to the Charco de San Ginés (Ginory site), the esplanade next to the Theme Park, in the El Reducto area, is available as a parking area. A large place to park that is a few steps from the epicenter of the great musical celebrations in El Reducto, which this year has premiered a new pedestrian promenade.
The mayor of Arrecife, Yonathan de León, has made direct arrangements with the owner of the large plot located next to the Open Mall Shopping Center, and which is used as a parking annex, so that it is operational 24 hours a day, allowing the parking of vehicles free of charge. This large plot, already adapted by its owners for car parking, has its access on Pérez Galdós street, next to the Valterra Health Center.
Precisely, Line 3 of the Municipal Buses of the City Council has a stop in this area next to the Valterra Health Center, which will allow greater mobility in public transport to people attending the festivities during this weekend, where the biggest musical concerts and the great night of fireworks are celebrated (on the night of Sunday 25, the feast of San Ginés, the patron saint of Arrecife).
The Department of Mobility and Transport suggests to the attendees of these events, who access the city of Arrecife in vehicles, to use these large parking lots. For those who transit from the south, along the LZ 2, they can go to the esplanade of El Reducto. For those who circulate from the north of the island, along the LZ 1, they can park their vehicles in the parking lot enabled (and authorized by its owners, next to the Open Mall, in front of the Valterra Health Center.
