Arrecife en Vivo pulsates with folklore, psychedelic rock, and local culture in an unforgettable weekend

Karmento, Derby Motoreta’s Burrito Kachimba, Los Estanques & El Canijo de Jerez, and León Benavente headline an edition marked by musical diversity, while young talent takes center stage on Saturday with workshops and educational concerts.

The artist from La Mancha, Karmento, presented ‘La Serrana’, awarded as Best Folk Album 2025 by the Academy of Music, to the diverse audience of Arrecife en Vivo that gathered on Friday, October 3rd, at the Islote de Fermina despite the intense heat of six in the afternoon. The duo from Fuerteventura, Chocolate Sexy, performed again at the popular festival in Lanzarote, filling the Plaza del Parque Islas Canarias to offer a fun live show of dancehall and hip hop that the younger audience especially enjoyed.

The drums of Kolpez Blai once again stirred up the Arrecife coastline, drumming on signs and trucks, leading the public from one stage to another through the streets of the capital. 

Marina Lanzarote marina hosted the first concert in Lanzarote by the band from Seville, Derby Motoreta's Burrito Kachimba, who offered an energetic live performance of psychedelic flamenco rock with total dedication, leaving the audience in a state of shock.

At the Cruise Ship Pier, the most outlandish and wonderful combination of the national scene was waiting: Los Estanques & El Canijo de Jerez, who put on an absolutely spectacular live show presenting their album 'Lágrimas de plomo fundido' [Tears of Molten Lead].

**León Benavente** took to the stage after midnight to present their 'New Symphony on Chaos', once again performing what remains one of the most powerful live shows on the national scene, which ended with Abraham Boba dancing among the audience.

Friday night concluded with Lopezhouse's techno-house set. 

 

### A Saturday to Enjoy Grassroots Culture On Saturday, October 4, the Islas Canarias Park hosted the event "We Support the Youth," in which teachers and students from the Toñín Corujo Music School and the Insular Center for Musical Education of Lanzarote participated. A hundred young artists demonstrated their learning of the timple, guitar, bass, saxophone, drums, and voice in two concerts in which they covered classics from the history of rock and pop.

Families also enjoyed a body percussion workshop with musician Odei Astibia, from Kolpez Blai, and a recycled paper creation workshop with native plant seeds, developed with the sponsorship of Grupo Chacón and coordinated by Taboire Soluciones Sostenibles with the collaboration of Arrecife Natura. 

The Canary Island production Kids Rock History  put the finishing touch to the morning with an educational review of the history of rock with a musical for all audiences.

Next **Friday, October 10**, Arrecife en Vivo will conclude its thirteenth edition with its last route of free concerts, starring Niños Bravos (6:00 p.m., Islote), Himalayas (7:30 p.m., Parque), Carlos Ares (9:00 p.m., Marina) and Parque Svr, Sexy Zebras and Virginia Díaz DJ (from 10:30 p.m. at the Muelle). The Artistas del Gremio brass band will carry the festival audience from stage to stage.
