A new musical and visual show will reopen the Jameos del Agua Auditorium

The Jameos del Agua Auditorium is about to reopen its doors, thirteen years after the last show. The reopening will take place next Friday, December 5, and will be in the hands of 14 musicians and 15 actors, who make up the cast of the show Tempo Lanzarote. This production, created by the manager of the Classical Orchestra of Lanzarote, Roberto Fuentes, has been made specifically for the event.

The production makes "a review of the history of the island" through three acts, explains Fuentes, who expressed on Monday his gratitude to the Centers of Art, Culture and Tourism of Lanzarote "for having counted" on his formation "for such a special occasion". Fuentes has broken down the content of the musical and visual show, which will take place this Friday and Saturday, December 6, starting at 9:30 p.m.  "The first act of Tempo is Rapto, in which we narrate everything that happened around the pirate attacks and incursions of 1563. Éxodo is the story of the volcanic eruptions of the years 1730 to 1736. Finally, Tempo is agriculture, fishing and tourism, the pillars of our current economy", he said. Fuentes explained that "six unpublished themes" have been created –Danza de los campesinos, Rapto, Éxodo and Tempo (by Ayoze Rodríguez) and Cantos de desolación and Arrorró (by Roberto Fuentes)- for the occasion, which will be "accompanied by an important audiovisual bet". "Tempo Lanzarote is a show that will surprise in a magical space", he says.

In addition, Tempo Lanzarote will feature the performance of the timplista Benito Cabrera. His are also some of the audiovisual creations that can be seen. For Cabrera, "the reopening of the Jameos del Agua Auditorium is very welcome news for all of us who were lucky enough to grow up attending special events, such as the performance of the Bolshoi ballet or Atahualpa Yupanqui, in such a special place that allows us and invites us to be chauvinistic".

The director of Los Sabandeños thanked the Centers "for the honor" that they have counted on him "for such a prominent event as this" and expressed his wish that the Auditorium "promote Lanzarote in the world". Regarding Tempo Lanzarote, Benito Cabrera announced that they will tell and sing "the history of Lanzarote through feelings".

The costumes for this representation have been designed by Oswaldo Machín and its direction is in charge of Ayoze Rodríguez, artistic coordinator of the Classical Orchestra of Lanzarote.

This cultural event also includes the electro-acoustic concert of the fusion music group Fuel Fandango, which will take place on Thursday, December 11, at 9:30 p.m. Also this concert has been created specifically for the occasion and, with it, the band formed by the Lanzarote producer Alejandro Acosta and the Cordovan singer Nita, "will almost end the two-year promotion tour of the album Trece Lunas", explained its producer, Neftalí Acosta. "We will vibrate with the quality of the group in a unique space that, we hope, will once again receive top-level culture", wished the musical producer.

For his part, the president of the Cabildo and Minister of Tourism of this institution, Pedro San Ginés, has assured that with the reopening "an important space is recovered for the island, for the Centers, and for the culture of Lanzarote".

Tickets for the show are already on sale at the box offices of the Art, Culture and Tourism Centers of the Cabildo de Lanzarote, as well as online.
