The trial of the 'Romina Case' finally has a date for celebration. An order from the Second Section of the Provincial Court of Las Palmas sets the celebration of the different sessions for next June: specifically, from June 2 to 16.
It will be held more than four years after the husband of the young Paraguayan woman, Raúl D.C., allegedly ended the life of his wife on New Year's Eve 2018 in the home they both shared in Costa Teguise, whose body he chopped up and scattered around different points on the Lanzarote coast.
This trial will be carried out with a Jury Tribunal, which will be constituted on June 2. Previously, next Monday, April 10 (10:00 a.m.), the draw will take place to elect the 36 candidates for the jury for this case. Representatives of the different accusations - private (family of Romina Celeste Núñez) and popular (Canary Institute of Equality) - and the defense will be summoned to this public hearing, to whom the Provincial Court warns that the draw will not be suspended due to the non-attendance of any of them.
Raúl, the only person investigated in this case, has been in provisional prison since last January after the maximum time stipulated by law (four years) had elapsed while awaiting trial.
