The Court of Arrecife has provisionally released the woman and the two men accused of stabbing two young people in a playground in Arrecife.
The defendants were arrested by the Local Police of Arrecife as alleged perpetrators of the crimes of attempted homicide and injury. However, the Court of Instruction number 3 of Arrecife took their statement and released them, accusing them only of a crime of injury and imposing a restraining order on the victims.
The case has now passed to the Court of Instruction number 2, which is the one that belongs to the instruction of the case.
The events date back to the afternoon of Thursday, August 8, when the National Police of Arrecife was alerted by both citizens that a brawl with a knife was taking place between several young people in a park in the capital of Lanzarote.
The National Police, who immediately went to the scene, observed upon arrival how an ambulance was attending to two young people. Several witnesses told the agents that the aggressors had fled the scene by car. With the data provided by the witnesses, several patrols tried to locate the vehicle with the perpetrators.
Meanwhile, the agents who were at the scene interviewed the two young victims of the events, although they did not provide much information to the agents. At this point, the information provided by the numerous witnesses who were in the park was crucial.
Both victims were transferred to a nearby hospital, where one of them required 12 external and six internal stitches in the neck, and the other injured several stitches in the right hand.
A police investigation was thus initiated, in which it was possible to identify the vehicle that fled, proceeding to the arrest of the young woman who was driving it as well as one of the perpetrators who turned out to be her partner. The third perpetrator of the events was located in a house where he was being hidden by his friends.
In addition to the arrest for the events described, one of them had a return order for irregular stay in Spanish territory.
