The reinforcement requested by the Court of Instruction number four of Arrecife within the framework of the investigation of the San Ginés case will not be debated until June. The request was collected on April 14 by the Governing Chamber of the Superior Court of Justice of the Canary Islands, which requested that "the appointment of reinforcements in these cases cannot be subject to the pre-established calendar of meetings of the sectoral negotiation table for civil servants, that is, every quarter, and emergency procedures must be used in which effective and immediate response is given to situations that do not admit delay".

This Monday it was the Deputy Minister of Justice of the Government of the Canary Islands, Carla Vallejo, who in statements collected by the Efe Agency, stated that this request will not be debated until June in the sectoral Justice table.

In statements to journalists, Vallejo indicated, regarding the request made by the Governing Chamber of the TSJC, that the autonomous administration attends, to the extent of its possibilities, to all requests received, but in accordance with a regulation and in the quarterly meetings scheduled to negotiate it with the unions.

In the procedure known as the San Ginés case, the alleged crimes of embezzlement, prevarication, money laundering and bribery are being investigated, related to the millionaire payments received by the lawyer Ignacio Calatayud when the current spokesperson for the Canarian Coalition in the Cabildo of Lanzarote, Pedro San Ginés, was president of this entity. Among other points, the instruction focused on the house in which the former president resides, owned by Calatayud's father-in-law, the lawyer Felipe Fernández Camero, also investigated in one of the pieces of the Unión case.

In the case of the Canary Islands, these requests refer to civil servants, since the appointment of reinforcement judges is the responsibility of the General Council of the Judiciary and the Ministry of Justice, he recalled. The request for reinforcement in the San Ginés case was added to the request for reinforcement in the Mediator case.

Vallejo commented that these reinforcement measures are exceptional and temporary and will be subject to analysis at the June table, to which applications may be submitted until the 15th of that month.

In each table they study an average of 30 and 40 reinforcement requests, indicated the Deputy Minister and that it will be necessary to reorganize and redistribute the 20 that are now in each province.

In addition, she emphasized that they are limited by the budget they have.
