The Court of Instruction number 2 of Arrecife has agreed to release on bail the detainee after assaulting a man with a broken glass bottle in Manolo Millares street, who is charged with a crime of injury, as confirmed by the Superior Court of Justice of the Canary Islands (TSJC).
The events took place at about 00.35 hours on Saturday to Sunday and the alleged aggressor was detained by several witnesses until the arrival of the National Police, who proceeded to his arrest despite the "strong resistance" of the man.
According to the police force, the detainee also threatened the agents with words such as "I am going to give you the coronavirus, I am going to put a bomb and I am going to kill you all". In addition, the National Police confirmed that the man had already been arrested days before, specifically on Monday, October 26, after going without a mask in Arrecife threatening people with a stick and a bottle, causing damage to a vehicle and threatening to kill the agents.
With respect to the events that occurred over the weekend, the National Police clarified that the arrested man had attacked the victim to steal his cell phone, according to the victim himself, who suffered bleeding wounds on both arms for which he had to receive stitches in the Hospital.
