The courts of Lanzarote resolved more than 26,000 judicial matters in 2022

During the year 2022, 26,026 judicial matters were resolved in Lanzarote. At the beginning of the year, 7,145 cases were already in process waiting to be resolved by the 13 judicial bodies, according to figures provided by the island's Data Center.

According to data from the General Council of the Judiciary (CGPJ), 7,888 judicial matters were still in process in Lanzarote at the end of the year. In this sense, 26,635 cases were entered during that same period.

The pendency rate, that is, the pending matters at the end of the period divided by those resolved during that time, is 0.30 in 2022. The organizations with the most pending matters are those of the Civil Jurisdiction: the Juvenile Court, the Instruction Court number one, the Family Court, the Court of Violence against Women (included within the Court number one of Instance and Instruction Court number six) and the Court of First Instance. With a pendency rate of 0.55.

After that follows the Social Jurisdiction. Between the two Social Courts, the pendency rate is 0.42. Meanwhile, the Criminal Jurisdiction maintains a rate of 0.13.

Regarding the congestion in the judicial bodies of the island, the Data Center collects the sum of the pending matters at the beginning of the period and those registered at that time and divides them by those resolved. This rate is 1.55 in the Civil Jurisdiction, 1.12 in the Criminal Jurisdiction and 1.42 in the Social Jurisdiction.
