The First Section of the Provincial Court of Las Palmas will try next May 13 in Lanzarote a defendant for taking advantage of a prison leave to try to sneak various quantities of drugs into the Tahíche prison.

The Prosecutor's Office accuses him of introducing on December 2024 around 11:30 in the morning into the penitentiary center 39 parcels of cocaine, several pieces of cannabis resin, 90 tablets of tryptisol and 120 of tranquimazin

The Public Prosecutor's Office assures that the accused hid the drug by taping it to his ankles and points out that the objective, once inside the prison, was to distribute it to other inmates.

In total, the accused was carrying 30.17 grams of cocaine, with a purity of 85.06%; 84.31 grams of cannabis resin; as well as the aforementioned tryptizol tablets, an antidepressant medication, and tranquimazin, an anxiolytic from the benzodiazepine family.

Thus, the Public Prosecutor's Office points out that the seized drug would have a market value of more than 2,300 euros.

The Prosecutor's Office accuses him of a crime against public health and requests four years in prison and special disqualification from exercising the right to passive suffrage for the duration of the sentence.

In addition, it requests the payment of a fine of 3,500 euros, with personal responsibility of one month in prison in case of non-payment.
