Prosecutor's Office requests 10 years in prison for a man accused of raping and robbing a woman in Playa Blanca

The events took place in November 2009 and were to be judged this Wednesday, although the trial has finally been postponed to December 12.

The Prosecutor's Office requests 10 years in prison for a man accused of raping and robbing a woman in Playa Blanca, whose trial was to be held this Wednesday in Gran Canaria, although it has finally been postponed to December 12. In addition, the Public Prosecutor's Office is asking for compensation for the victim of 12,000 euros.  

According to La Provincia, the events took place in November 2009 when, according to the indictment, the accused "accessed the affected party's home through the balcony window, which was open". The Public Prosecutor's Office maintains that S.N, born in Morocco and who was then 29 years old, went to the victim's room, and sexually assaulted her. 

Subsequently, according to the Prosecutor's Office, the accused took the victim's cell phone, which was on the bedroom table, as well as 80 euros in cash that the woman had inside her bag.

Therefore, the Public Prosecutor's Office requests a sentence of 10 years in prison for the defendant for the crime of sexual assault and a fine of 720 euros for a crime of theft. Likewise, it requests compensation for the victim of 12,000 euros and the prohibition that the accused can approach her, at a distance of less than 500 meters, for a period of 15 years.
