The Ministry of Justice is going to create the Court of First Instance Number 6 of Arrecife. This was confirmed this Thursday to the senator for Lanzarote and La Graciosa, Manuel Fajardo Palarea in a meeting held with the Secretary of State for Justice, Antonio Rodríguez Esquerdo, who confirmed to the senator the creation of the new Court.
The creation of the new Court came from Senator Francisco Manuel Fajardo Palarea after several letters addressed, in April of this year, to the General Council of the Judiciary (CGPJ) and to the territorial member of said body for the Canary Islands, Álvaro Cuesta, urging the creation of said body.
The senator for Lanzarote and La Graciosa considers that the creation of this new judicial body, first on the list of priorities specified in the needs report of the judicial district of Arrecife, "constitutes an act of equitable distribution that does not go against anyone, much less against other islands".
According to Manuel Fajardo Palarea, "this agreement responds to a demand based on the particularities, double insularity and different needs that exist in the non-capital islands and that, without a doubt, will result in a better provision of the public service of justice in the two islands, whose interests I swore to defend".
Report from the Senior Judge of Arrecife
Fajardo Palarea took the initiative when it became public knowledge that the Superior Court of Justice of the Canary Islands (TSJC) had requested the creation of ten judicial bodies in the Canary archipelago, none of which were based in Arrecife.
The senator made his request "relying on the detailed and well-founded" report prepared and sent to the TSJC by the Senior Judge of Arrecife, Adalberto de la Cruz Correa, after hearing the board of judges of the judicial district of the capital of Lanzarote and with the approval of the Ministry of Justice of the Government of the Canary Islands.
The senator appreciates the receptiveness shown by the Minister of Justice, Pilar Llop, her Secretary of State, Antonio Rodríguez Esquerdo, and her Director General, María Angels García, as well as the Minister and Deputy Minister of Justice of the Government of the Canary Islands, Julio Pérez and Carla Vallejo, respectively, as well as the territorial member of the CGPJ for the Canary Islands, Álvaro Cuesta, "for having decisively contributed to the achievement of this fair demand".
