The First Section of the Provincial Court of Las Palmas will try a man in Lanzarote on May 28 accused of a crime against public health after carrying five packages with 86.71 grams of narcotic substances. After being expertly analyzed, these substances turned out to be 0.81 grams of methylphenidate, 20.53 grams of MDMA, 60.81 grams of MDMA and 4.56 grams of hashish.
The events took place in 2022, when the defendant A.M.R. bought these narcotic substances online for subsequent distribution, which he received at a Post Office located in Arrecife.
To do this, he used post office boxes in his name as well as in the name of A.D.M. Specifically, A.M.R. received the five packages in his name and that of A.D.M. on March 16 and 18, 2022. These substances reached a total value of 2,046.68 euros in the illicit market for which they were intended.
For these events, the Prosecutor's Office is asking for five years in prison and a fine of 5,140.04 euros for the defendant, with the subsidiary personal responsibility that, in case of non-payment of that sanction, he would be penalized with two more months of deprivation of liberty.
Likewise, the Public Prosecutor's Office also requests special disqualification for the right to passive suffrage during the term of the sentence.
