A citizen has reported to the Nature Protection Service (SEPRONA) of the Civil Guard in Lanzarote a series of "urban irregularities" in several bungalows of the Island Homes apartments in Caleta de Famara in Teguise.

The aforementioned complaint includes expansions in area and volume of some bungalows, as well as underground constructions and concreting in the garden allegedly "without a license for it". As an example, it includes houses 98 and 103 of Chirimoya Street, which correspond to numbers 28 and 18, as well as bungalow 149 of Corona de la Reina Street, 11.

Regarding the role of the Teguise City Council, the complainant points out that he tried to file a complaint with the council, but that he was "prevented" from doing so in September 2022. At the same time, and on another occasion, and always according to his version, from the Technical Office he was referred to the Local Police, indicating that it was not the area's business to attend to that complaint. The Local Police did not collect it either. Therefore, he finally presented it to Seprona.

According to the lawsuit that La Voz has accessed, "the strategy followed by some" of the owners of the bungalows is "to request a mere prior communication to the Teguise City Council, consisting of conservation and improvement works, which has nothing to do with what ended up being done."

In this line, he highlights that bungalow 87 of Dulce Street, 6 had to demolish an underground apartment that he built and "rebuilt it." As well as that in another of the accommodations, number 93 of Chirimoya Street, 25 was also reported for expansion.
