The president of the Works Council of the Tourist Centers, Antonio Bonilla, rejoined his job this Wednesday after the ruling that declared his dismissal unfair. However, according to him, his return has not occurred by the decision of the CACT management but because, after his defense requested the execution of the sentence, the Court ordered the company to reinstate him.
"The date chosen by the management was this one and it's correct, I think it's fine", said the president of the Works Council, who however believes that his reinstatement has "taken a little while". "If the company had wanted, I would have been working before and not getting paid at home", said Bonilla, recalling that the court ruling occurred about a month ago.
Although that ruling is not yet final and Bonilla believes that it has already been appealed by the CACT management, its execution could already be urged, which is what his defense did. In addition, although with that ruling he could choose to claim compensation for unfair dismissal or request his reinstatement, Bonilla decided to claim the return to his job, which finally occurred this Wednesday.
He appreciates Corujo's "committed" speech with the Centers
On the other hand, the president of the Works Council of the Tourist Centers has pointed out that the words that the new president of the Cabildo, Loli Corujo, addressed to the CACT workers were "to be appreciated" in her inauguration speech, which he considers to be "very committed to the Centers".
"Her words were seeking social peace", said Antonio Bonilla, who, after Corujo's speech stating that "the persecutions" against the institution's workers were over, hopes that "the gasoline drums" will also end. "I think that any intelligent politician should know how to treat the people around him, because they are the ones who make them great", said the president of the Centers' Works Council.
"It is a way of speaking that we had never heard before. And when she said workers of the Art, Culture and Tourism Centers of the Cabildo, it touched our souls, because she is absolutely right. The EPEL-CACT was created to try to separate us and with that they even managed to distort César's image", added Antonio Bonilla about the inauguration speech of the new president of the Cabildo who, in this sense, has pointed out that the Works Council will demand "to have the image that César left again". And he recalled that the workers' clothing of the Centers was a design by Manrique "that the management removed".
"We are not going to ask for pears from an elm tree overnight, but I believe that with collaboration and a good atmosphere everything can be carried out", said Antonio Bonilla, who nevertheless warned the new government that they are "a demanding and critical works council". "But as long as all that is respected, especially César's work, the public, whoever comes will never have problems, whatever their political color", he concluded.
