The First Section of the Provincial Court of Las Palmas will judge next January 17 and 18 in Gran Canaria seven defendants accused of introducing and distributing drugs in Lanzarote.
The Prosecutor's Office accuses them of a crime against public health, in its modality of substances that cause serious damage to health. Thus, it states in its indictment that G.E., known as Gibi, was at the head of the plot. He was allegedly in charge of directing the operation to, through mules or human couriers, introduce cocaine and heroin into the island by plane.
According to the Public Prosecutor, Gibi would have received the help of the defendants B.B., F.D.F., M.H.B. and U.E. (known as Uno) and UE. (alias Bruno) to distribute the narcotic substance throughout Lanzarote.
Specifically, the Public Prosecutor accuses M.H.B., B.B. and Bruno of assuming the role of "final sellers". Meanwhile, he points to F.D.F. and Uno as suppliers of the substance sold.
Thus, the head of the plot would have devised the transfer of cocaine from Dakar, the capital of Senegal, to Lanzarote on a flight with a stopover in Gran Canaria on November 30, 2021.
On this flight, it would have been the defendant E.B.D.L, known as Tunto, who would have transported the merchandise. In total, he was carrying 30 capsules of cocaine, with an average purity of 79.19% and a value of 29,899.85 euros.
Following the arrest of E.B.D.L. and the discovery of the cocaine, the police proceeded to enter and search several homes in Arrecife. In these interventions, several mobile terminals, passports, about one kilogram of cocaine, heroin, handwritten papers with annotations, documentation, several laptops, scales and several pen drives were found.
While for the defendants B.B. and F.D.F. the aggravating circumstance of recidivism concurs.
Specifically, the Ministry asks for the seven defendants the penalties of six years in prison, special disqualification for the right to passive suffrage during the time of the sentence and a fine of 199,686.99 euros.
Since December 3, 2021, the defendants Uno and Bruno remain in provisional prison for this cause. Therefore, the Prosecutor's Office requests that the time already spent in prison be deducted.
