The Court of Instruction number 3 of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria has opened preliminary proceedings to clarify whether the content creator and television collaborator Anabel Pantoja and her partner David Rodríguez committed an alleged crime of child abuse. This was reported by the Communication Room of the Court at noon this Thursday.
The baby of both was admitted to the Maternal and Child Hospital of Gran Canaria between January 11 and 27. The intervention of Justice is motivated by the remission on January 17 of a report of injuries on the state of the minor sent from the medical center that attended the girl to the duty court. The content of this report was ratified by a forensic medical examination.
The purpose of the investigation is to clarify the causes and mechanism of production of injuries observed in the baby, in order to protect her and considering "only her best interest".
The parents testified last Monday, January 27 before the judicial authority, as investigated and with legal assistance. However, as the communication office has also reported, they were never arrested.
After taking their statement, the judicial authority agreed to abstain from the knowledge of the case in favor of the judicial district of San Bartolomé de Tirajana, where the episode allegedly occurred. The investigation continues its course. In addition, no precautionary measure was agreed in the Court of the capital of Gran Canaria, neither in reference to the personal situation of the investigated nor about the guardianship of the baby. For the moment, the actions are confidential.
