Following the celebration of the EBAU on June 7, 8, 9, and 10, three students from different schools in Lanzarote have obtained "the best results among the top ten scores in the entire province of Las Palmas," according to the vice-rector of students at the University of Las Palmas, David Sánchez, at the event held this Tuesday, June 20, at the Teacher Training Center in Arrecife.

A recognition event where the three best students from Lanzarote, Pablo Beitia García, Nicolás López, and Gabriela Gil, gathered with their families. During the talk given by the two organizers, María Dolores Rodríguez, Deputy Minister of Education and Universities of the Government of the Canary Islands, and David Sánchez, congratulated them: "I want to congratulate the students for their final effort and their entire school stage," Dolores began. They also wanted to celebrate the good results obtained in Lanzarote with "94.6% of passes in the EBAU."

Both wanted to emphasize "the effort that has been made in public education over these four years," in addition to "recognizing the work of the teachers in each center." Not forgetting the families, from whom "the effort of the parents enduring the nerves of the exams" was highlighted.

Dolores Rodríguez gave them advice for the new stage they are about to face: "Encourage them to never give up in the face of difficulties that may arise." "Good luck and choose well," they recommended. In addition, after finishing the talk, they gave them bags and towels "to use in their new stage," the vice-rector pointed out.

One of the students with the best grades, Gabriela Gil, from IES Las Salinas, with a 9.938 grade, reveals that she "was very calm, without nerves and prepared, which has led to better results." "The subject that has cost me the most has been history, due to the hours of study," she adds.

"I'm still not sure what career I will pursue, I have to keep looking"

"I'm still not sure what career I will pursue, I have looked at Architecture, Energy Engineering, and Industrial Engineering as possible options, although I have to keep looking," she explains. And for a destination, "I have thought about Valencia," she admits.

Her grandmother, Consuelo Páez, very happy with her effort, received the news "wonderfully," although she recognizes that "it has its merit," she emphasizes that "she has fulfilled her obligation." Regarding her granddaughter's preferences, "it's a personal thing" but "that she does what she likes when working in the future."

Another of the students with the best grades, Pablo Beitia García, from IES Puerto del Carmen, recognizes that the EBAU "wasn't that bad," but confesses that "the subject that cost me the most was technical drawing," in which "an exercise was complicated for me." Despite this, he has obtained an average grade of "9.913," he points out.

"I'm going to Granada to study Architecture"

He is clear: "I'm going to Granada to study Architecture," confirms Beitia. "I have chosen this destination since part of my family has studied there, so I have good references," he anticipates. Yani García, his mother, recognizes that "at first I didn't believe it," but I am "very proud and happy" with the result.

Regarding his departure to the Peninsula to study, the mother admits that "he has to do what he likes and enjoy life." A career for which he has opted "at the end of the course," reveals García.

The last of them, Nicolás López, from IES Las Maretas, who has obtained a 9.875 in the EBAU, "I am happy with the good results" that "have been reflected in the grade," he emphasizes. On the day of the exams, "I didn't go with nerves because I had studied," although "the subject that has cost me the most has been Chemistry," he recognizes.

"I am going to decide on Medicine since I really like helping people,"

As for the career, "I am going to decide on Medicine since I really like helping people," he confirms and "my main option is to go to Germany, but I am waiting for some results," although from Spain "I would like to go to Madrid," he points out.

Juan Pedro López, his father, is "happy and proud" of his son, also with the choice of career, despite coming from a "family of teachers," he comments. Regarding the destination, "his dream is to study in Germany," he adds.
