Almost 3,700 applicants participated this Saturday in the Canary Islands (more than 300 in Lanzarote) in the entrance exams for middle grade (1,646 people) and higher grade (2,037) vocational training cycles organized by the Ministry of Education, Vocational Training, Physical Activity and Sports, headed by Poli Suárez, through the Directorate General of Vocational Training and Special Regime Education.
These exams are aimed at those who do not have the required academic qualification to access directly, so their completion on all islands, and not just on the capital ones, is of great importance, as it allows any person in the archipelago, regardless of their place of residence, to continue their studies and thus enjoy new opportunities for qualification and employment.
In this sense, "the call responds to the commitment of the regional Executive with the principle of lifelong learning, as well as with an inclusive model in which no one is excluded from the educational system".
Furthermore, it reinforces the objective of bringing Vocational Training to all of the Canary Islands, consolidating an accessible and adapted offer to the real needs of its citizens.
However, the certificates obtained after passing the tests are valid throughout the state and do not expire, which grants those who obtain them a permanent accreditation for access to Vocational Training.
In fact, the call maintains an open and diverse character, so, along with candidates residing in the islands, each year people from other parts of the country participate, as well as foreign citizens who, residing in the islands, seek a way to join the educational system and improve their qualifications.
The entrance exams for the Pancho Lasso Art School are held this Thursday, April 14
On the other hand, this Thursday the exams for the ordinary call for the access tests to the medium and higher level training cycles of Plastic Arts and Design will take place, scheduled in the art schools of Fuerteventura, Manolo Blahnik (La Palma) and Pancho Lasso (Lanzarote) and, as well as in the art and higher design schools (EASD) of Gran Canaria and Fernando Estévez (Tenerife), also offering the opportunity for people without academic requirements to access these teachings.
Likewise, the specific entrance exam will be held for those who opt for this route of access by not having a direct access qualification.
Regarding the Special Regime Sports Teachings, the specific access tests will be carried out until May 15, depending on the sports specialty or modality for which the interested person is applying.
The complete schedule for carrying out the specific tests, by modality or specialty, can be consulted on the website of the Department.
Some 1,500 people participate in these other ordinary calls, but in the event of vacancies, both the professional Plastic Arts and Design studies and the Special Regime Sports Studies will have an extraordinary call in September.
