The Canary Islands School of Health and Social Services (ESSSCAN), which reports to the Ministry of Health of the Government of the Canary Islands, and the Lanzarote Associated Center of the National University of Distance Education (UNED Lanzarote), have signed an agreement within a cooperation framework with the aim of developing a joint action program of an academic nature. This agreement was recently signed by the director of ESSSCAN, José Francisco Montelongo, and the director of UNED Lanzarote, Andrés Martín.
Through this agreement, which will be valid for four years and renewable, both institutions will promote the establishment of different actions for the development and dissemination of education and culture at a general level between both organizations, as well as the development of higher education.
To carry out the objectives contemplated in this agreement, ESSSCAN and UNED Lanzarote will plan joint action programs, especially those related to the exchange of students and teachers and the training and improvement of teachers.
The collaboration between both entities is in addition to the ESSSCAN agreements that, after more than thirty years dedicated to the comprehensive training of professionals in the health and social field, pursue the "improvement of the quality of life of the population in general and in the continuous training of health and social professionals".
This agreement is in addition to another signed by ESSSCAN with the University of La Laguna (ULL), signed with the aim of strengthening higher education in the field of scientific and technological research, as well as educational and cultural research.
