The Governing Council of the Canary Islands, at the proposal of the Ministry of Universities, Science, Innovation and Culture, has approved the authorization of fourteen new official degrees, after completing the evaluation and verification procedures provided for in current regulations, thus expanding the offer of higher education in the islands.
Among the proposals submitted are the Degree in Geography, Territorial Sciences and Environment and the University Master's Degree in Digital Technologies in the Green Economy (Green Tech), both from the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria (ULPGC), with favorable reports from the Canary Agency for University Quality and Educational Evaluation (ACCUEE) and the backing of the Social Council and the University Council of the Canary Islands.
**The other twelve** degrees correspond to the **Technological University of the Canary Islands**, recognized as a private university by Law 1/2024. The degrees are **Law, Primary Education, Early Childhood Education, Criminology, Marketing, Business Administration and Management, Audiovisual Communication, and Human Resources and Labor Relations.**
Likewise, it approved the master's degrees in Occupational Risk Prevention, Special Education, Human Rights, and Business Administration and Management (MBA).
All files have been favorably reported by ACCUEE and meet the requirements for their implementation. These authorizations are part of the procedure that the higher education center must complete to obtain authorization to begin operations, which is currently being processed.
The Governing Council authorizes these proposals once the academic, administrative, and quality requirements for their incorporation into the Canary Islands university system have been verified
