The Government of Canarias and the INCYDE Foundation of the Chambers of Commerce of Spain have celebrated, with the collaboration of the Chamber of Commerce of Lanzarote and La Graciosa, the closing ceremony of the program "PRECE Canarias: Entrepreneurship in Podcasting", an initiative aimed at strengthening the business and digital skills of entrepreneurs in the archipelago.
The training itinerary, developed in close collaboration with the chamber corporation between June 1 and July 10, 2026, has successfully trained a total of 29 local entrepreneurs.
Throughout the course, students have worked on essential skills for the viability of any business in the current environment, addressing core subjects such as strategic planning, corporate finance, digital marketing, and technical production of podcasting.
The event featured institutional interventions by Mr. Javier Collado Cortés, general director of the INCYDE Foundation, who praised the potential of the projects presented, and by Mr. Manuel Alexis Oliva Hernández, general director of Economic Promotion and Diversification of the Government of Canarias, who stressed the need to continue promoting programs that technify and diversify the productive fabric of the islands.
Likewise, the event was attended by Mr. José Torres Fuentes, president of the University Foundation of Lanzarote and La Graciosa, an entity that has hosted the training program and the closing ceremony at its facilities.
This training responds directly to the strategic agreement signed in 2025 between the Ministry of Economy, Industry, Commerce and Self-Employed of the Government of Canarias and the INCYDE Foundation for the development of fourteen programs specifically aimed at promoting entrepreneurship in close collaboration with the island Chambers of Commerce.
The initiative is co-financed by the European Union through the European Social Fund Plus, under the framework of the State Program FSE+ of the Autonomous Community of Canarias, within the state segment of the outermost region priority.
Two examples of success: The journey of Ico and Maemuki
The day was marked by the presentation of two of the business projects tutored in recent weeks, which demonstrated the creativity and innovation being generated on the island.
Among the proposals presented, “El Viaje de Ico: Los Centros Perdidos” stood out, a project led by participant Julio Herrera de León consisting of an educational animation producer focused on the creation of historical-cultural series for the enhancement of tourist destinations.
Its first product focuses on a production of eight episodes that disseminates the valuable heritage of the Art, Culture, and Tourism Centers (CACT) of Lanzarote through a hybrid visual language that combines two- and three-dimensional technologies with photographic archives.
In the same vein of digital innovation, participant Alfredo Simon presented “Maemuki” (a term that means "looking forward" in Japanese), a video-podcast project that has been broadcasting since September 2025 and is currently developing its second season. The initiative is dedicated to narrating real stories of people, projects, and trajectories capable of inspiring and providing deep learning, placing the human factor as the central axis of the content.
Its main differentiating mark lies in the production format, as the interviews are recorded while driving through the geography of Lanzarote, which generates very close conversations and a highly recognizable aesthetic compared to the traditional studio.
