The number of tourist homes in Canary Islands decreased by 2% in the latest count by the National Institute of Statistics, which puts the figure at 49,676 units, the second highest figure after Andalusia (91,757, 4.6% less).
In the whole of Spain there were in November 2025 a total of 329,764 tourist homes, which represents a drop of 13.6% compared to the figure that was registered in May.
If compared with the same period of 2024, the drop in the number of tourist dwellings is 12.4%
With the data released this Monday, the number of tourist homes is the lowest recorded since August 2023 and represents **1.24% of the total homes that exist in Spain.**
Andalusia and the Canary Islands add up to almost half of all tourist apartments in Spain.
Furthermore, the latest data on tourist dwellings corresponding to November (the aforementioned 329,764) represents the lowest figure recorded since August 2023, when 340,424 were counted
The decline takes place in a context marked by the mandatory registration of short-term rentals, including tourist ones, and the requests from the Ministries of Housing and Consumer Affairs to platforms to remove illegal advertisements.
In the past May statistic, the data showed 381,837 tourist dwellings in Spain, 52,073 more than in this latest November editionSince there are records for this statistic, the highest figure was in August 2024, with 403,267 tourist homes in Spain
Taking into account the number of places, in November 2025 the registered tourist homes amounted to 1.6 million, 15.7% less than the 1.9 places that were given in May. Per home, the INE counts 4.9 places per home.
Above 40,000 tourist homes, the Valencian Community also stands out, reaching 48,441, 23% less than in the previous edition.
In the case of Catalonia, the figure for tourist apartments is 46,915, 17% less than in May.

Basque Country reduced its tourist dwellings by 12.5% to 4,783, while Castilla-La Mancha registered 4,551 tourist dwellings, 12.8% less.
Likewise, Aragón reached 3,785 tourist homes, 18.5% less and Navarra 1,463, 12.5% lower.On the contrary, Extremadura marked its maximum since 2020 with 2,114, 5.4% more
La Rioja was the community with the fewest tourist homes in Spain, a total of 1,332, 2% less than in the previous statistic.
