Each tourist who arrived in Canary Islands in 2024 spent an average of 176 euros per day, but the data varies from municipality to municipality as evidenced by the latest Tourist Spending Survey published by the Canary Islands Institute of Statistics (ISTAC).
Tourists staying in Adeje were the ones who made the highest daily expenditure, reaching 206 euros. Next is Yaiza, with 198 euros of spending per tourist, and, in third place, San Bartolomé de Tirajana (186 euros).
By nationality, tourists from the United Kingdom were the ones who made the highest average daily expenditure, with a total of 191 euros. The British who stayed in Adeje spent an average of 215 euros each day.
In the case of German tourists, the average daily expenditure was 170 euros, and Santiago del Teide was the municipality where they spent the most money, with a daily average exceeding 204 euros.
As for Spanish tourists, the average daily expenditure during their stay in the Canary Islands in 2024 was 152 euros. Yaiza and Adeje, with an average of 192 euros in each case, were the places with the highest average expenditure per Spanish tourist per day.
The average stay of tourists who arrived in the Canary Islands in 2024 was 9.37 days, slightly lower than in 2023 (9.47 days). Mogán, with an average of 11.2 days, and San Bartolomé de Tirajana (10.2 days) were the destinations with the longest stays.
