The number of homes holiday available for rent in Lanzarote has fallen by 11.6% in January compared to twelve months ago, according to data from ISTAC provided by the Centro de Datos de Lanzarote.
If in January 2025 there was a total of 7,806 holiday homes in Lanzarote available on intermediation platforms, last month 6,990 were counted.
In the whole of the Canary archipelago, the decrease has been 5% up to a total of 45,253 available vacation rentals. The 15% of the total vacation rentals in the Canary Islands are in Lanzarote, Tenerife has 41%, Gran Canaria 23% and Fuerteventura 14%.
Nevertheless, the total number of homes registered as vacation rentals in the General Tourism Register amounted to 11,094 at the beginning of this year.
By municipalities, the largest percentage drop in vacation rentals available for rent in the last year, occurred in Tinajo, 20.6%, from 280 vacation rentals last year to 232 this year, although it is the municipality that counts the fewest vacation rentals in Lanzarote.
In absolute numbers, the largest decrease occurred in Yaiza, which went from 2.337 in January 2025 to 2.087 units last month. This is a decrease of 11,9%.
In Tías, the drop has been of 10.9% by going from 2,081 vacation rentals available in January of last year to 1,875 last month.
Teguise, for its part, has experienced a fall of 10.3% going from 1,638 vacation rentals to 1,484 in twelve months.
In Arrecife, the percentage decrease has been 14.7%. If in January 2025 there were 514 vacation rentals available to rent in the island's capital, today there are 448.
For its part Haría experienced a decrease of 10.3% going from 580 holiday homes in January 2026 to a total of 518 currently.
San Bartolomé is the only municipality that has more vacation rentals available now (346), than a year ago, when there were 336.
