The Association of Tourist Transport of Lanzarote (ASTRATUR), integrated into the Tourist Federation of Lanzarote (FTL), held its Electoral Assembly this week, in which it renewed its Board of Directors and approved the modification of its statutes.
During the Assembly, the election of the new Board of Directors of ASTRATUR took place, with Esther Cabrera Quintero being re-elected as president of the Association, representing Lanzarote BUS.
The new Board is comprised of Mª Luisa Mateo (Ultramar Express- TUI Transport), who assumes the vice-presidency; Milagros Recari (representing Guaguas Jocaba), as secretary; and José Juan Bonilla (Guaguas Guatiza), in charge of the treasury. The governing body is completed by three vocal positions held by Natalio Cruz (Lanzarote Limusinas), Jesús Navarro (Paz Bus), and Alejandro Rodríguez (Famara Bus)
During the session, a review of the activity carried out by ASTRATUR over the past year was conducted. In this regard, associates were informed about the main topics addressed by the entity and the meetings held with different public administrations, organizations, and institutions linked to the tourism and transport sectors, in a context marked by the evolution of the regulatory framework and the changes the sector is undergoing.
One of the central points on the agenda was the approval of the modification of the statutes of the Association, an update considered necessary to "adapt ASTRATUR's internal operations to the current demands of the sector, improve decision-making efficiency, and strengthen the mechanisms for member representation and participation".
During the Assembly, the role of tourist transport was highlighted as "an essential element of the visitor experience and a strategic service within the island tourism value chain".
The re-elected president thanked the associates for their trust and underlined the new Board of Directors' commitment to continue working in defense of the sector. "We face this new stage with the responsibility of continuing to represent Lanzarote's tourist transport, strengthening dialogue with institutions, and adapting to the changes the sector is experiencing, always with the aim of offering a good service, aligned with the island's tourism model," said Esther Cabrera Quintero.
From ASTRATUR, the participation and involvement of its associates are highly valued, underscoring the importance of sector unity to confidently face the present and future challenges of tourist transport in Lanzarote.
