Since the new rates were introduced to access the Art, Culture and Tourism Centers of Lanzarote at the beginning of this year, the influx of tourists has decreased by an average of 15.6%, while collection continues to rise.

Since January 1, 2024, accessing the Fire Mountains costs 20 euros for non-residents, while 15 euros are paid to visit Jameos del Agua and Cueva de los Verdes.

In addition, it now costs eight euros to visit the Mirador del Río or the Jardín de Cactus, and five euros the MIAC-Castillo de San José. An entrance to the new Casa de los Volcanes was also added for five euros.

Compared to last year, the influx of tourists to the Centers decreased mainly in June (-19.7%), July (-19.7%) and August (-22.3%).

On the other hand, it fell much less in March (-1%), although it must be remembered that Easter fell in that month during 2024, in February (-10.2%) and in May (-12.8%).

If between January and October of last year the Centers had almost reached 3 million visitors, this year, during the same period the figure has remained just below 2.5 million.

Although the exact monthly collection for tickets has not been disclosed, the Centers announced in September, in the advance of the accounts for the first semester, that they had an operating profit of 8.7 million euros and a profit of 4.4 million euros before taxes.

At the same time, the Tourist Centers recalled that in 2023 as a whole the profits amounted to 2.9 million euros, which gives an idea that the introduction of the new rates has not reduced collection but rather the opposite.
