De León announces more cruises and promotes Arrecife as a film and event venue

The CEO of MSC Cruises highlighted the agreement between his company and Mundosenior, which will lead to more cruise passengers in Arrecife, especially in autumn and winter

These days at Fitur, the Arrecife city council has promoted the city as a filming location, cruise port, and venue for sporting events.

Regarding the audiovisual, Marcos Carreño, known artistically as Kiño, a Colombian rapper, music producer, and actor with over 600,000 followers on social media, was present at the island's stand.Carreño plays AXL in the series La Reina del Flow, the most-watched non-English language series on Netflix this month, and spoke to the media at Fitur about the filming in Lanzarote and the series in general

Arrecife was also confirmed as a home port for MSC Cruises until 2028, which will bring a cruise ship every week, which according to the city council is a "great achievement that underpins the local economy for the companies and workers who provide services to this tourist and maritime activity".

The announcement came after a meeting between Mayor Yonathan de León and Tourism Councilor Eli Merino with the General Director of MSC Cruises for Spain, Fernando Pacheco. Starting this season, MSC's weekly cruise will have a capacity for 4,400 passengers.

Pacheco also highlighted the importance for Lanzarote of the **agreement between his company and Mundosenior**, a tour operator specializing in travelers **over 55** years of age from Ávoris Corporación Empresarial.Thus, there will be more cruises in autumn and winter from the peninsula, and travelers with "greater spending capacity per stay and trip," highlights the city councilOn the other hand, the Arrecife City Council confirmed at Fitur the celebration of the **Trofeo Ciudad de Arrecife Rallye Isla de Los Volcanes**, which "will attract major teams and the presence of thousands of motorsport fans".The mayor highlighted that this year the Rally will "have a lot of international projection as it is **scoring for the Spanish Super Rally Championship** (S-CER)".
