Lanzarote is the third destination in Spain where tourists plan to spend the most money to enjoy their getaways this Christmas season, just behind Benidorm and Granada, which leads this ranking, and far ahead of other prominent destinations in the Canary Islands.

Specifically, the average daily budget for Lanzarote is close to 370 euros, 35 euros above the national average of 335 euros and also higher than the 300 euros for Fuerteventura and the 271 for Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, the most economical destination. The analysis does not include transportation costs.

The data is based on the analysis of interactions made to travel between December 1, 2024, and January 15, 2025, by users of Speakspots.com, an artificial intelligence (AI) startup that creates free, customized trips in 1 minute to more than 30 prominent Spanish destinations and 148 from other countries.

As for the breakdown, accommodation is the item in which tourists visiting Lanzarote invest the most during the specified period (173 euros per day), followed by food (110) and activities (80).

Long and peaceful stays

Another conclusion of the study is that Lanzarote is a destination for long stays at this time of year, with 61% of travelers coming as couples. In fact, 75% of tourists who have planned a getaway for this period stay 4 or more days on this island, a percentage that equals Fuerteventura and slightly exceeds Las Palmas de Gran Canaria (80%).

As for attractions, the analysis shows that tourists are especially looking for rest and peaceful experiences such as visiting the Cactus Garden, the Charco de San Ginés, the Castillo de San Gabriel, or the Charco de los Clicos.
