Lanzarote's hotels are not the ones that earn the most per night among 728 destinations analyzed on the Spanish coast (they are fifth), but they are the ones that have managed to increase their revenue per available room the most since 2019.
This is the indicator known in the world of tourism as RevPar, an English acronym for Revenue per available room, that is, revenue per available room.
Between 2019 and 2024, Lanzarote's hotel rooms generated a revenue increase of 50.9% to reach 118.48 per room, according to a study by Exceltur, a tourism association that brings together the country's largest hotel groups.
The report, entitled 'Monitor of tourism competitiveness responsible for Spanish sun and beach destinations' compares the increase in earnings per room among 728 sun and beach destinations in Spain.
Although Lanzarote's hotels are the ones that have increased the profitability of their rooms the most, there are still four sun and beach destinations in Spain that earn more per room.
In the first place is the destination analyzed jointly of Ibiza-Formentera with a RevPar that in 2024 amounted to 152.98 euros. The profitability of hotel rooms on these two Balearic Islands increased by 45.8% since 2019.
The second place is for the Barcelona Coast, whose hotels reached 138.38 euros per room, with an increase in profitability since 2019 of 30.6%.
The hotels of Tenerife and Gran Canaria occupy the third and fourth position respectively, although they are very close to the figures obtained in Lanzarote.
In Tenerife, the RevPar of its hotel establishments last year reached 120.93 euros, which represents an increase in revenue per room of 40.9% compared to 2019.
In Gran Canaria, hotels obtained 120.71 euros per room last year and their profitability has grown by 40.4% in five years.
