Lanzarote's hotels, the most optimistic in the Canary Islands, despite their concern about the lack of staff

61.3% of hoteliers in Lanzarote are optimistic about the performance of their businesses in the next quarter. This is the highest value of all the islands in the Canary Islands, whose average is 55.9%, according to data published in the latest Survey of Expectations of Collective Tourist Accommodation by the Canary Islands Institute of Statistics (ISTAC).

Among the managers of non-hotel accommodations, however, the value is higher in Tenerife (66.3%) than in Lanzarote (55.6%), while the average for the Canary Islands remains at 47.12%.

Regarding employment, 77.5% of hotel managers in Lanzarote are concerned about the lack of staff, the second highest figure in the archipelago, second only to Fuerteventura, where the percentage rises to 83.8%. The Canary Islands average is 69.5%.

The expected occupancy rates for the months of October, November, and December in the Canary Islands are 81%, 78%, and 77% among hotels, while among non-hotel accommodations, 75%, 79%, and 76% are expected.

Regarding the occupancy rate trend for the fourth quarter, in relation to 2024, 53.37% and 60.8% of hotel and non-hotel establishment managers believe that it will remain stable.

The Confidence Index is based on opinions about the current situation and the expectations of hotel and apartment managers. In this sense, apartment managers are more optimistic than hotel managers, where the confidence index increases by 8.6 points compared to the previous quarter of 2025.
