Lanzarote's tourist accommodations had never before earned so much money in a month as last August when their total income reached 101.6 million euros, according to data provided by the Lanzarote Data Center.
Hotel establishments obtained 79 million euros, three more than last year, while non-hotel establishments took the rest: 22.6 million, which also represents 3 million more than in August 2024.
The average rate of hotels reached 164.85 euros, 5.1% more than in August last year, while in non-hotel accommodations it was 105.5 euros, 12.2% more.
In total, they accommodated fewer tourists, 268,395 compared to 271,226 last year, who also stayed less time, with overnight stays totaling 1.6 million nights this August, compared to 1.7 in August 2024.
Regarding employment, 535 more jobs have been created in hotels compared to August last year and 122 in non-hotel accommodations.
Thus, the total number of employees in Lanzarote's hotels is currently 9,924 people and 2,404 in the non-hotel subsector.
