The airline Jet2.com and its associated tour operator Jet2holidays announced last Saturday an increase of 25,000 seats (round trip) between the United Kingdom and Lanzarote for next winter, specifically the months of February and March 2025.
As detailed in a statement by the airline, which is already the main British tour operator in the archipelago, this increase in air seats will mean a potential of more than 13,000 more tourists on arrival compared to previous projections, since flights will be added from five of the bases that Jet2 has in the Anglo-Saxon country: Birmingham, Bristol, East Midlands, Manchester and Newcastle. These five British cities will add extra flights that will connect with the Canary airports of Tenerife, Gran Canaria and Lanzarote.
In addition, this increase in seats announced by the airline is joined by the launch of winter flights from the new base it has at Bournemouth airport, which was presented a few dates ago.
Jet2.com and Jet2holidays have highlighted that, with this movement, the next will be the "most ambitious winter ever" for the company in the Canary Islands, with a total of "2.25 million seats offered" in both directions, and with a peak of up to "225 weekly flights" at the peak of the winter season.
In statements collected in the press release, the company's CEO, Steve Heapy, has assured that the "attraction" that customers feel for the islands leads them to "increase our program in the archipelago once again".
"We are the leading British tour operator here and we know very well what these islands represent for our travelers. We are delighted that next winter will be the most ambitious ever in the Canary Islands," concluded Heapy.
