The British airline 'Jet2.com' will offer more than 1.5 million air seats to the Canary Islands this summer, 13% more (171,000 additional seats) than those it marketed to this destination during the summer period of 2023, as announced in the recent edition of 'Fitur'.
In particular, Lanzarote will exceed 400,000 seats offered on arrivals, which represents an increase of more than 43,000 seats compared to the summer of 2023 (12%), with a peak of 67 weekly flights.
Last year it was the leading tour operator between the United Kingdom and the Canary Islands, with "more than two million passengers on arrival", as highlighted by the company in a statement in which it announced that, from the end of March, the new route to Liverpool, from each of the four airports in which it operates (Tenerife South, Lanzarote, Gran Canaria and Fuerteventura) will be the great novelty, also for Canarian travelers, who will have the opportunity to travel to one of the cities with more charm, culture and fun in the United Kingdom.
In total, 'Jet2.com' will reach a peak of 245 weekly flights in summer (in 2023 it was 213) offering direct flights to these four islands from its eleven bases in the United Kingdom: Leeds, Manchester, London-Stansted, Newcastle, Bristol, Birmingham, East Midlands, Belfast, Glasgow and Edinburgh, as well as Liverpool.
Tenerife will continue to be the second most important airport in all of Spain in the 'Jet2.com' operation, with more than 640,000 seats on arrival, a growth of more than 52,000 seats compared to last summer, with a peak of 101 weekly flights.
In addition, Gran Canaria will also benefit from a significant increase in arrival seats: 19% more than in the summer of 2023, reaching more than 257,000, with a peak of 42 weekly flights. However, Fuerteventura will be the island that will benefit most from the growth planned by 'Jet2.com': with 210,000 seats offered, it will have 34,000 more seats than last summer, an increase of 20%.
With increases of between 9 and 20% in all the islands in which it operates, the commitment of 'Jet2.com' and 'Jet2holidays' with the institutions, tour operators and hotels of the archipelago "will be stronger than ever in 2024".
