The Lanzarote winery El Grifo has acquired the hotel establishment Caserío de Mozaga, in order to advance in the wine tourism activity that the winery develops.

Its owners, Juan José and Fermín Otamendi, explained that they are "taking a further step in their commitment to quality wine tourism and their commitment to the island and its conservation."

"A strategic step towards the future", in the words of Fermín Otamendi, co-owner of El Grifo for whom “the acquisition of Caserío de Mozaga is a key step in the evolution of El Grifo as a wine tourism destination.

"Our objective is to create a unique offer that combines our wine tradition with Lanzarote hospitality, offering our visitors a complete and authentic experience."

Caserío Mozaga also belongs to the family's heritage, "it was the house where our mother spent her summers when she was little, and that is why it has great sentimental value for us.”

Located just a few kilometers away from the winery, in San Bartolomé, and built at the end of the 18th century, it is listed as a Historical Heritage of Lanzarote.

Caserío de Mozaga has been inhabited uninterruptedly until 1998, when it began its activity as a hotel. El Grifo ensures the continuity of this historic property within the family, while reinforcing its strategic plan to diversify and strengthen its wine tourism offer.

Located on an estate of more than 10,000 m², it is a boutique accommodation with only 12 rooms, including 3 suites, which "offers an experience of comfort and authenticity in a privileged environment."

For more than 25 years, this rural hotel, which also has a restaurant, has been a benchmark of hospitality for travelers from all over the world, and will now be an integral part of the El Grifo wine tourism experience.

The acquisition of Caserío de Mozaga represents a key milestone in the history of El Grifo, just as it begins the celebration of its 250th anniversary.

This incorporation not only expands its presence in the tourism sector, but also responds to the growing international demand for authentic and exclusive experiences around wine.
