The port of Arrecife achieved a 38% increase in the arrival of passengers on tourist cruises during the past month of May, according to official statistics released by the Port Authority of Las Palmas (APLP).
In the accumulated between the months of January and May of this year, the capital of Lanzarote has received 278,814 cruise passengers, with Arrecife registering an increase of 11.7% in this same period, compared to last year 2023.
The capital of Lanzarote continues to contribute more than 30% of the business linked to tourist cruises in all the state ports attached to the Port Authority of Las Palmas.
The mayor of Arrecife, Yonathan de León, a member of the Board of the Port Authority of Las Palmas, has announced that "important shipping companies specializing in cruise tourism have confirmed that they will make calls at the port of Arrecife during the next winter season", between the months of September 2024 and April 2025.
The port area of Arrecife will offer for the next season new facilities in its passenger terminals on the Cruise and Los Mármoles docks, currently under construction by the awarded company.
