Airlines have scheduled 240 million seats in Spain this summer, 13.5% more than last year, which will predictably break last year's record again, in a season in which rising prices will not stop the travel pulse driven after the pandemic.

The president of the Airline Association (ALA), Javier Gándara, explained this Tuesday at a press conference that the offer to travel between April and October is higher than last year's values in all communities, but more intense in the Canary Islands or Andalusia, where 14% more flights are planned.

ALA's forecasts far exceed the announcement of the Government of the Canary Islands, which last month reported that this summer there would be 10% compared to the previous season.

The good figures for the first quarter of the year -traditionally weaker-, with an increase in passengers of 13.2%, support this growth in the summer forecasts.

The recovery is being homogeneous by segments, against what had been happening, because the weakness of intercontinental and business traffic impacted mainly on the airports of Madrid and Barcelona. Now all are in pre-covid values, according to ALA forecasts.
