Lanzarote has the most expensive rental prices in the Canary Islands, according to the draft of the Island Territorial Planning Plan of Lanzarote that La Voz has been able to access.
With data from the Ministry of Housing and Urban Agenda, the island of volcanoes was ahead of Fuerteventura, Tenerife and Gran Canaria, as the island with the highest rental prices.
Likewise, the most expensive municipalities to obtain a home are also the most touristy: Yaiza, Teguise and Tías. These localities also register a greater number of homes registered as vacation rentals.
Such is the case that the reference real estate portal, Idealista, only has fifty homes available for rent. Of these, less than half (23) are available for long term, the rest are temporary rentals. Also, in this search engine the cheapest house costs 750 euros per month, while the highest amounts to 2,100 euros.
According to these data, renting a home in Arrecife, the capital of Lanzarote, is 22.8% more expensive than a year ago and already costs 13.1 euros per square meter. In other search engines the offer decreases even more.
